Join us this spring at Babeș-Bolyai University for a two-day hybrid event dedicated to exploring the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on higher education. Held in Cluj-Napoca and also available online, this engaging gathering brings together Young Leaders Academy Fellows, international experts, and early-career academics from across disciplines.

Day 1: Reflection and Dialogue (Hybrid)

Monday, May 12
The program opens with insights from YLA Fellows and a keynote by Dr. Nompilo Tshuma (Stellenbosch University, EUTOPIA Global Partner), titled „Generative AI and Postgraduate Education – Enabling or Constraining the Development of the Postgraduate Identity”.
Panels and talks throughout the day will address the ethical use of AI in research, the development of responsible AI tools in education, and how AI is reshaping academic disciplines—from history to computer science. The day concludes with a roundtable discussion featuring a diverse group of researchers reflecting on AI’s broader role in academia.

Day 2: Practice and Skills (On-site only)

Tuesday, May 13
Led by trainer Răzvan Florian (Romanian Institute of Science and Technology), this hands-on training day focuses on practical tools and critical skills for integrating AI into research and teaching. Sessions will explore foundational AI concepts, scientific methods through an AI lens, and practical applications in academic work.
