From May 13–15, 2025, students from Babeș-Bolyai University took part in the EUTOPIA Innovation Challenges for Students, hosted by Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) in Barcelona, under the theme:
“Unmasking the Truth: Tackling Fake News Together.”
This dynamic, three-day international event brought together students from 10 EUTOPIA universities to explore the impact of misinformation through workshops, expert-led discussions, and collaborative innovation projects. Participants formed interdisciplinary, multicultural teams and worked closely with media professionals and industry experts to develop real-world solutions to current global challenges.
One of the key challenges, focused on strategies to encourage everyday fact-checking habits among citizens. Despite the complexity of the issue and the limited time, UBB students demonstrated impressive adaptability, teamwork, and creativity.
We are proud to announce that UBB students and their international teams stood out during the competition, earning awards for their innovative solutions.
This experience provided an excellent opportunity for students to:

Participation was fully funded, with travel, accommodation, and meals covered for the selected students, following a competitive application process at the university level.
