Gabriela-Nicoleta Rus, a student representative from Babeș-Bolyai University and Secretary General of the UBB Student Council (CSUBB), has been elected Vice-Chair of the EUTOPIA Student Council, the representative body of more than 300,000 students across the ten universities of the EUTOPIA European University Alliance.
The new leadership team was elected during EUTOPIA Week in Gothenburg. Gabriela-Nicoleta Rus will serve alongside the re-elected Chair of the EUTOPIA Student Council, Simone Rizzo from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, and fellow Vice-Chair Nejc Nemček from the University of Ljubljana.
The election represents an important recognition of Gabriela’s involvement in student representation and highlights Babeș-Bolyai University’s active contribution to the governance and development of the EUTOPIA Alliance.
Strengthening the Student Voice across EUTOPIA
Over the past year, the EUTOPIA Student Council has worked to consolidate its activities, establish a more structured way of working, strengthen cooperation with the EUTOPIA Central Office, and improve dialogue with the institutional coordinators of the partner universities.
During the new mandate, the Council will continue to represent students in key discussions concerning the future of European higher education. Its priorities include the development of the European Degree, joint academic programmes and improved communication with students across all ten partner universities.
A central objective will be to ensure that EUTOPIA opportunities, initiatives and decision-making processes reach and involve as many students as possible throughout the Alliance.
Ten Universities, One Student Community
The new leadership team will contribute to strengthening cooperation among students and institutions, while ensuring that the student perspective remains visible in the strategic development of EUTOPIA.
