✨ UBB at EUTOPIA Week 2025 | Venice ✨
From 1–5 December 2025, the UBB delegation proudly participated in EUTOPIA Week, hosted by Ca’ Foscari University of Venice — the flagship gathering of the EUTOPIA European University Alliance.
Held under the theme “Together into the Future,” EUTOPIA Week 2025 brought together university presidents and vice presidents, academic and administrative staff, students, research leaders, and global partners from across Europe and beyond. Far from a conventional academic conference, this week represented the moment when strategic decisions are taken, partnerships are formed, and a shared vision of the European university of the future is shaped — collectively.
The programme combined high-level governance meetings, research planning, challenge-based learning discussions, student-led initiatives, and rich networking moments. Key highlights included:
- Strategic discussions within the Board of Presidents and alliance governance bodies

The Young Leaders Academy, featuring intensive training and a public symposium on the future of European universities

Meetings of the Global Institute Steering Committee, advancing EUTOPIA’s research agenda with a special focus on water — a theme particularly resonant in Venice

The active contribution of the Faculty & Staff Council

Participation from Global Partners in Africa, Asia-Pacific, and the Americas, reinforcing EUTOPIA’s international reach
The Opening Ceremony underscored the importance of collective action in strengthening Europe’s resilience and advancing the digital and green transitions, with strong engagement from European and national institutions, including representatives of the European Commission, ministries, and the FOREU4ALL network.
For UBB, EUTOPIA Week 2025 was a meaningful space for dialogue, collaboration, and strategic reflection, reaffirming our commitment to a more interconnected, innovative, and truly European academic community. The conversations started in Venice will continue well beyond this week — carrying forward the collaborative momentum that defines EUTOPIA.
