Babeș-Bolyai University will organize the training “Proposal Writing for Horizon Europe RIA/IA (Pillar 2)” on 25–26 March 2026, from 09:00 to 16:00, held exclusively in person. The training is addressed to early-career researchers interested in participating in research and innovation project calls under Pillar II of the Horizon Europe programme.
The training aims to provide participants with practical support for developing competitive project proposals and for increasing their chances of success in accessing European funding for research and innovation.
The training will be delivered in English by an external consultant with more than 20 years of experience. Coffee breaks will be provided during the training. Lunch is not included.
The workshop is organized within the Premiere EUTOPIA_HEALTH project (code PN-IV-P8-8.1-PRE-HE-ORG-2024-0254), funded through the National Research, Development and Innovation Plan 2022–2027 (PNCDI IV).
What the training offers
The training is designed to support researchers who wish to prepare and submit project proposals under Horizon Europe, Pillar II. The focus is on understanding call requirements and developing well-structured and competitive proposals.
Participants will have the opportunity to:

understand how to align a project idea with the objectives of a call (grant matching);

go through the main stages of the proposal development process;

learn how to draft the Excellence, Impact, and Implementation sections;

understand the principles used in the evaluation of proposals;
-
identify common challenges in proposal writing and ways to address them;
-
work on practical examples and exercises based on a case study.
Who can participate
-
Researchers from Babeș-Bolyai University, from any field, who obtained their PhD no more than 15 years ago (legal interruptions such as parental leave, medical leave, etc. are deducted from the total time since obtaining the PhD);

Participation is free of charge, but the number of places is limited to 20 participants.

relevant research experience (including experience in submitting or implementing nationally or internationally funded projects);

interest in Horizon Europe calls (including identification of a specific call, if applicable);

how participation in the training would support the applicant’s professional development.

Selection process
Participants will be selected based on:

the relevance of their research experience to Horizon Europe thematic areas;

the clarity of motivation and interest in participating in RIA/IA calls;
-
the potential for involvement in future consortia and project proposals.
The motivation letter will help ensure that the training is relevant to the professional interests and career paths of the applicants.
